History and values

The Body Shop International PLC, with brand known as “The Body Shop®” was founded by Anita Roddick in 1976, with the first The Body Shop® store opened on the south coast of England. Our company developed very fast over last decades. Nowadays, It provides a range of consisting of 1200 products including cosmetics and make-up in its 2500 franchised stores in 61 countries. Roddick died in 2007 and now the body shop is part owned by L’Oréal.


We build our brand value as long as The Body Shop® was created, which are

– Defend Human rights

– Support community fair trade

– Protect our planet

– Against animal testing

– Activate self esteem


To us, “The Body Shop®” should not stands for a traditional beauty brand, but a beauty brand with heart, going beyond conventional corporate social responsibility, by integrating these brand values into our company. It has been a long-term that we devoted our energy and our competencies solely to offer our expertise in the service of women and men worldwide, meeting the infinite diversity of their beauty desires. Especially, our Brand is committed to fulfilling this mission ethically and responsibly.
